The objectives of Kilkenny Cereals for the period 2003 - 2007 are based upon two strategic aims and focussed on County Kilkenny and the South-East region, as follows:
Enterprise Development
To develop our entrepreneurial capability and management potential in County Kilkenny and the South-East region maximising our contribution to the local economy. Our aim is to:
  • Improve our entrepreneurial and business skills;
  • Draw upon local potential for the development and management of our business;
  • Create and retain jobs in the County Kilkenny region from our new business activities;
  • Establish business relationships with suppliers of capital, local producers and interested customers that will stand the test of time; and
  • Build on the strong entrepreneurial spirit that exists in Kilkenny, cultivating a culture of enterprise and undertaking appropriate projects that share the development objectives of the County.
Alternative Technology Development
To develop Kilkenny Cereals' profile as an innovative centre of excellence through specialisation in vehicle fuel replacement technologies. Our aim is to:
  • Develop expertise in the adoption of world-class technologies that replace the use of fossil fuels in the fuel cycle;
  • Facilitate the development of local skills in the installation and maintenance of in-vehicle technologies;
  • Achieve worl-calss operation in the production of pure plant oil bio-fuels; and
  • Contribute to the body of knowledge available in Ireland for the future development in these areas.
