Kilkenny Cereals was incorporated in December 2003 as a private limited company in Ireland.
Corporate History
The genesis of the company came from the passion felt by Michael Prendergast for the potential uses of alternative energy sources to meet the future requirements of Irish consumers, and the significant role that County Kilkenny could make in their development.
  • Michael was a member of the Kilkenny Cereals Group, an informal working group of farmers from across the county, who got together to collaborate on projects that developed farming and agricultural interests in the region.
  • The Group identified pure plant oil technologies, based upon oilseed rape, as a potential project, and asked Michael to lead their team.
  • The vehicle selected for the project became Kilkenny Cereals Limited.
